We’ve had a lot of talk about robots in our house lately. Leon is suddenly obsessed. The timing is good, it gives me a direction to transition his room from nursery/toddler room into a kid room.

I was pregnant with Leon when I started papercutting. Transitioning Amelia to her big kid room and setting up the nursery for Leon was what inspired me to pick up the knife. Two and a half years later, I’m feeling some newfound inspiration. I’ll be drawing upon the work and process I did for Jet Blue as I create new art for his room, with lots of layers and colors. My neglected sketchbook as several ideas for a series.

And for those They Might Be Giant fans, this song has been in my head for days now! Leon insists on watching this clip over and over, when he isn’t begging for the “Robot Movie” (aka Star Wars.)
