Well it sort of snuck up on me. After yesterday’s blog post (and let me stop right now and thank you for the wonderful comments, commiseration, and the link from Daisy Jane that sort of kicks your bum a bit!) I checked to see how long I’ve been doing this for. And exactly two years ago today I listed my first item on Etsy.

Late into my second pregnancy I was hit with a creative storm and discovered papercutting. I spent the better part of my third trimester cutting every waking minute, which involved a lot of nights since I wasn’t sleeping. I knew I had the intention of opening up an Etsy store. Then, one morning when Leon was six weeks old, I woke up and knew I had to do it that very day. I blame sleep deprivation. It’s insane to try to get a business off the ground with a newborn who slept in 30 minute stretches all night long.

So here were are, two years later, and to celebrate I’m having a night light giveaway. The rules are simple. Leave a comment, letting me know which one you’d pick if you won and your in. If you blog about it or tweet, you get extra entries, just make sure I know about it. Drawing takes place Saturday, the 26th at midnight and I’ll announce the winner. Because the night lights only work in the US and Canada, I can’t open this up to the international community. But if you are from out of the area and want in, you can select two prints in lieu of a night light.
